Everybody is a bystander at some time. A bystander is a person who observes a conflict or unacceptable behavior. It might be something serious or minor, one-time or repeated, but the bystander knows that the behavior is destructive or likely to make a bad situation worse. An active bystander takes steps that can make a difference.

Join Seeing the Forest for the Queers (SFQ) and the University of Maine for a virtual active bystander training. We will spend two hours learning and practicing how to be an active bystander. There are two cohorts offered. You need only to sign up for one of the classes.

This event welcomes all professionals, practitioners, and students within forestry and natural resources and was made possible thanks to support from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund.
