This webinar will host a panel discussion of the new report Beyond the “Illusion of Preservation” with three of the seven authors (two are also Guild members). The report addresses the imbalance of wood production and wood consumption in New England and encourages taking regional responsibility by protecting forests, reducing consumption, and expanding ecological forestry in New England. We will review the report content and the imperative laid out for the future of New England’s forests. The discussion will explore the authors’ proposed three-step approach to improving the balance so that we can sustainably produce the wood to meet the region’s needs.
