Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Forest & Lands Technician position will be responsible for safe and responsible facilitation of Yakona’s forests and lands. This includes:

• conduct and/or assist trails and roads maintenance, using volunteers and/or vendors as appropriate
• monitor boundaries of Yakona Nature Preserve for trespass and encroachment, refreshing signage as necessary
• manually treat invasive species, including English Ivy, Scotch Broom, and English Holly using hand tools
• work with and maintain a variety of tools, including line trimmers, chainsaws, and other power tools
• coordinate docent/volunteer activities on the land
• assist with implementation of Yakona’s Forest Master Plan in compliance with requirements of NRCS or other formulas
