Summary:

Join us for a multi-stop tour showcasing New Hampshire’s dedicated efforts to protect and restore ash trees. We’ll start at the State Forest Nursery and then caravan together to two more field sites showcasing an ash planting initiative.

Our field tour will:

  • Explore NH’s ongoing integrated pest management approaches, including insecticide treatments, silviculture, and biocontrol to preserve ash and promote regeneration
  • Provide an insider’s view of the NH State Forest Nursery’s innovative seed processing, propagation, grafting, and planting activities
  • Visit the seed orchard and ash enrichment planting sites for a firsthand look at restoration efforts
  • Facilitate meaningful discussion, casual networking, and lunch with others committed to the future of ash — from seed to resilient trees

Speakers:

  • New Hampshire Division of Forests & Lands: Billy Kunelius (NH State Forest Nursery Manager) and Bill Davidson (Forest Health Specialist)

Please bring the following, and be prepared to walk a ¼ mile+ across terrain that may be muddy, steep, and uneven:

  • a water bottle,
  • snacks,
  • footware that can get muddy,
  • insect repellent,
  • sunscreen
