Compensation: $17/hour
Age Range: Must be 16-19 years of age at time of hiring

Position Summary:
The Forest Stewards Youth Corps-Maine (FSYC-ME) will bring together a 5-person crew to work alongside the Penobscot Nation (PN) to complete forest stewardship projects such as invasive plant removal, trail maintenance, bridge building, timber sale layout, and creating pollinator habitat. FSYC-ME will provide training and experience to further participants’ employment opportunities in the natural and cultural resources field. Crew members are not required to have any previous experience but must be willing to learn new skills and work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with a crew of 5 people on forest stewardship projects such as invasive plant removal, trail maintenance, bridge building, timber sale layout, and creating pollinator habitat
- Work outside in steep and uneven terrain and, sometimes, during inclement weather conditions
- Work safely as part of team
- Problem-solve and work collaboratively with fellow crew members to ensure tasks are completed
