Event summary

The Forest Stewards Guild is hosting our Lake States Guild Gathering at the University of Wisconsin’s Kemp Station in Wisconsin’s beautiful north woods. We will discuss several topics related to silviculture and forest stewardship. Main themes include a focus on Forestry for Wisconsin Birds and a field tour to review the first 15+ years of the Managed Old Growth Silviculture Study site on the 29th.

This Guild e-newsletter article is related to old growth topics and information we’ll dig into at this gathering!

Accessibility

This event is not suitable for anyone with restricted mobility for standing, driving/riding 45 minutes at a time, or hiking.

Lodging opportunities

On site: We will have the historic Kemp Lodge and a total of 27 single beds in 7 rooms. If you’d like to reserve a single bed in a shared room on site, you may specify which night(s) and pay for lodging with your event registration. First come, first served.

Off site hotels: If you would like private lodging, there is a wide variety of hotels in and around Minocqua. This is peak tourism season and availability may be limited.
