Join us at the Cloquet Forestry Center (CFC) to learn about the recently published Forestry for Minnesota Birds Conservation Guidebook and how to use it. The guidebook is the culmination of several years of work by multiple partners to refine forest management approaches to enhance forest bird habitat in Minnesota.
This will be an exciting kickoff of the next phase of the program now that printed guidebooks are in hand. All attendees will get a free copy of the new book! The digital version is available here: https://foreststewardsguild.org/forestry-for-the-birds/
Agenda:
- Start at 9:30
- Initial talk about Forestry for MN Birds at CFC
- Visit Otter Creek pine site at CFC
- Lunch
- Group field tour: 2 field sites on Carlton Co land
- Disburse around 4:00 p.m.
Transportation:
We will carpool together to field sites.
Food:
Cookies in the morning and a catered lunch will be provided.
Please bring:
- A water bottle
- Dress for the weather
- Clothes or repellent, if desired, for ticks and mosquitoes
Continuing education credits from SAF and the Wildlife Society are pending approval.
