This event is intended for natural resources practitioners and SAF Continuing Education Credits approval is pending.

Accessibility: We will be walking on uneven ground in the woods.

Join the Forest Stewards Guild, Aurora Sustainable Lands, Appalachian Mountains Joint Venture, West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlands Network, and West Virginia NRCS to learn about forestry for birds in West Virginia.

We will learn about:

  • The concepts of bird-friendly forestry
  • How to apply management practices
  • Operational realities and stories of implementation in practice
  • How to look at a forest through the eyes of a bird
  • Bird identification tips and tricks

And we will be reviewing the newly published Bird Friendly Forest Management Silviculture Guide while enjoying the woods!
