Summary:

This position is essential to maintaining an active and successful statewide Urban and Community Forestry Program. The role of this position is to provide leadership and vision for communities throughout the state to acknowledge the importance of maintaining healthy urban forests and develop self-sustaining urban forestry programs within their community. In addition to coordinating a statewide Urban and Community Forestry program, the position is responsible for supervising the state’s Urban Volunteer Coordinator contract, managing the New Mexico Forest Re-Leaf Program, and managing New Mexico’s Big Tree Program.

Duties:

  • Coordinate statewide Urban & Community Forestry (UCF) Program funded by the U.S. Forest Service(65%)
  • Manage New Mexico Forest Re-Leaf Program (15%)
  • Serve as tree care advisor to individual citizens and New Mexico’s Big Tree Program Manager (10%)
  • Provide program support to EMNRD and Forestry Division as needed (10%)
