Summary:

This position provides administrative coordination and operational leadership for the Silviculture Program statewide including responsibility for the management of silvicultural activities on approximately 4.5 million acres of state forest land. The incumbent will provide planning, administrative, contracting, and technical support to field personnel, supervisors, and division managers to ensure silvicultural activities are incorporated in division and department programs, plans and policies. The incumbent will coordinate and establish priorities for tree planting, aerial seeding, site preparation, site release, seedling protection, stand improvement, and regeneration surveys to meet reforestation statutory requirements; maintain a diverse program budget to fund program activities; and serve as the Division Aerial Forest Management Coordinator and Pesticide Program Coordinator. The ultimate goal of position responsibilities is healthy and productive state forest lands to meet the needs of the division and Minnesota citizens.
