Summary:

The successful candidate for this full-time term appointment will identify training needs and coordinate, facilitate, and provide reforestation-related training across the Southwest to meet the workforce development needs of the New Mexico Reforestation Center and Southwest reforestation pipeline. The position requires the ability to travel as needed, obtain a New Mexico driver’s license, and work in inclement weather requiring significant exertion.

Duties:

  • Coordinate with interestholders and partners to develop training opportunities to meet identified and documented reforestation-related training needs;
  • Work with relevant agencies, employers, regulators, scientists, experts, and others to accomplish training objectives in line with established reforestation guidance and best available science;
  • Identify, collaborate, and maintain healthy working relationships with key reforestation actors to establish a network of reforestation training partners;
  • Secure agreements/permits/contracts with federal, state, Tribal, and private partners to facilitate access to properties and facilities for training-related activities;
