Summary:

This position works under general supervision to plan, coordinate and conduct field silvicultural trials. These trials may include a grant funded ash replacement trial, uneven-aged white pine trial, ironwood control trials and others. The Forester – Senior will work independently and as part of a team to carry out this work. This position will assess forest stands, forest regeneration and will collect other field data and enter it into the appropriate data products. Additionally, the Forester – Senior will assist with data analysis and synthesis and integrate information from many sources. Other responsibilities will include creating GIS maps and reports and disseminating silvicultural information to various audiences. This position will be based out of the DNR office in Ashland but will require extensive travel across Wisconsin. This position will work outdoors in various weather conditions.
