UNH Cooperative Extension is filling two forest resources field specialist positions—one in Hillsborough County and the
other in Strafford County, NH that will also cover Belknap County, NH. Forest resources field specialists conduct county-based programming and state-wide programming as described in this position announcement. Applicants may apply for one or both of these positions.
The field specialist, individually and in cooperation with co-workers (state specialists, program managers, and faculty), natural resources organizations and agencies, and the county advisory council provides extension forest resources education and assistance to landowners, citizens, natural resource professionals, forest industry, community groups, volunteer organizations, town government, county government, state agencies and natural resource organizations. The field specialist implements programming using the principles outlined in the 2016-2021 Cooperative Extension Strategic Plan (https://extension.unh.edu/resource/unh-extension-strategic-plan-2016-2021). The forestry field specialist develops, implements, monitors, evaluates and reports on:
- Woodlot visits with landowners, providing technical and educational advice regarding all components of forest
- Educational programs and technical assistance for county residents, businesses and communities,
- Managing the county-owned lands with guidance and approval of county commissioners,
- and much more!
