Summary:
The Environmental Director is responsible for the operation and administration of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. This is done in accordance with the Governor’s and Divisional Director’s directives, the Pueblo’s policies and procedures, and Tribal, Federal, and State laws. Develops and implements goals and objectives for the department. Responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of Pueblo enterprises and contractors. The Director will develop, implement, and monitor environmental strategies, policies, and programs that promote sustainable development.
Brief summary of job responsibilities:
- Supervise Environment/Natural Resources Department staff.
- Secure grants and other external sources of funding to support the operations of the department and achieve goals and objectives for the Pueblo of Tesuque.
- Conduct or manage studies and/or restoration activities of environment and natural resources that may include watershed management, wildlife management, forestry and wildfire management, solid and hazardous waste management, environmental compliance, and others as identified by the Director or assigned by the Division Director.
