The Forest Health Communications Specialist serves as the principal staff expert for development of outreach and education materials for the Forest Health Program. This position develops written, visual and audio educational and communication tools for current and future use in forest health outreach efforts.
The DNR would like to hire this position in conjunction with the Natural Resources Educator position. Interested and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for both positions.
70% – Plan and produce forest health communication materials including newsletters, exhibits, press releases, printed publications, web content, social media posts. Provide review and editing for all forest health outreach and education materials developed by the program to ensure that technical information is accessible and persuasive to the target audiences. 20% – Develop and maintain relationship with DNR Customer Services to provide public information related to forest pests. Develop and deliver ongoing training and materials for Customer Service staff. Lead effort to use call center as a conduit for forest health information.
10% – Complete other duties as assigned.
