This individual is responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating a wide variety of non-formal (off-campus) Forestry and Natural Resources related educational programs for primarily adult audiences in the service area. Providing educational services to other regions of the state will also be encouraged in the incumbent’s area of expertise.
80% – Extension Programming
Assess needs of target audiences and use results to focus program development efforts. Assessment methods should include combinations of focus groups, surveys, evaluation of secondary data, key informant interviews, and other techniques purposefully implemented to gain a clear understanding of audience needs.
Design, develop, market, deliver, and evaluate educational programs to include classes, workshops, shortcourses, seminars, field tours, webinars, web-based instructional modules, videos, etc. on forest and natural resource related subjects important in the service area.
Design and produce educational materials such as Extension bulletins, magazine and newsletter articles, mass media, peer reviewed and technically refereed articles in appropriate journals and other outlets.
