DESCRIPTION:Register today \nLive Burn\nSaturday\, December 3\, 2022 (backup date of December 10 for inclement weather)\n9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. ET \nSnacks will be provided.  \nPrescribed fire is a tool often used for ecosystem management and wildfire mitigation. Join Foothills Conservancy\, Carolina Land-and-Lakes RC&D\, The Nature Conservancy\, Forest Stewards Guild\, and NC Forest Service to learn about the benefits of prescribed fire. This demonstration burn event will explain the role of prescribed fire in forests of Western North Carolina\, introduce how to conduct a prescribed burn\, and describe how to use prescribed fire and other tools to mitigate wildfire risk.  \nWear close-toed shoes and non-synthetic pants. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves and safety glasses will be provided as needed.  \nThis recording from the spring webinar introduces some prescribed fire topics.
